According to the Central Valley Business Times - the Episcopal Church has fired 61 priests and deacons in the Central Valley.

The reason?

They followed former Bishop John David Schofield when he rebuked the national church for its stance on Gays* and then aligned his church with the Anglican Church of the Southern Cone.

( * He and others objected to the ordination of gays into the priesthood among other things.  The clergy had six months to deny or recant - their stance against gay priest or get fired.  They decided to get fired instead. )
