Remember Joey Chestnut from San Jose?

(He's the reigning Nathan's Hot-Dog Eating King.)

Anyway, in honor of St. Patrick's day he took part in a Corned Beef

sandwich eating contest.

Said one competitor:

"It's ridiculous how much they can eat."

In the end, the winner was Joey Chestnut.

He downed 15-and-a-half sandwiches is just 10 minutes.

"I love St. Patrick's Day," said Chestnut just after the eating competition had ended..."

And it was going to be hard for anyone to beat me. I came out pretty confident but I didn't want to let anyone know it."

Joey's St. Patty's Day prize? $5,000.

habitat for Frogs.

St. Patrick - The Real Story ....

Was St. Patrick a Missionary ?

The short answer is yes.

Here are some other St. Patrick facts from the Christian Post online.

St.Patrick was the first Christian missionary to Ireland.

"Saint" Patrick (389 - 461 AD) actually went to Ireland twice:

First as a slave
And later as a missionary.

He was Born in Britain.

(Patrick is widely known as the first Christian missionary to the Irish people.)

During his youth (from 16 to 22 years old), he was captured and taken to Ireland.

While there, he repented of his sins.

Years later - after escaping to his homeland, he received a vision from God calling him to

return to the Irish people to proclaim the Gospel of Christ.

Patrick obeyed God's call and went back.

For the remainder of his life - he ministered to the tribes of Ireland - confronting Irish idolatry

and sorcery, converting many to Jesus Christ, and baptizing thousands of people.

Tradition says he used the three-leaf Irish clover to teach the unity of the Father, Son, and

Holy Spirit. According to historian William Federer, who wrote St. Patrick:

The Real History of His Life, From Tragedy to Triumph,

"He was actually a missionary and he converted 120,000 druids from paganism to

Christianity."

Federer claims that in the fifth century A.D., Patrick did more than perhaps anyone in history

to spread Christianity in Europe. Although druids attempted to kill him over a dozen times,

Patrick continued to teach the message of Jesus Christ, and throughout his ministry he

pioneered over 300 Christian churches.

Patrick also spoke out against slavery, and because of this, some call him the world's first

abolitionist.

So, there you have it .. ' Happy St. Patrick's Day '

Cable Company Airs Playboy - On Kids Channels

Sorry about that... might not cut it for Time Warner Cable.

But just the same the company has apologized for accidentally

displayed Playboy Channel programming on two children's channels

in North Carolina this morning.

“Basically, we had a piece of equipment fail and what happened is

some previews for the Playboy Channel actually got diverted into

the preview box on our Kids on Demand (Ch. 252) and our

PreSchool On Demand (Ch. 555).”
