1. "9" - Rated PG-13 for violence and scary images. When he first comes to life, "9" finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world where all humans are gone, and fearsome machines roam the earth. Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, John C. Reilly, Crispin Glover, Jennifer Connelly and Elijah Wood provide some of the voices. (NOT for very young kids. This is a dark, bleak movie. The animation is spectacular though. I liked it!)
2. "Whiteout" - Rated R for violence, grisly images, brief strong language and some nudity. Kate Beckinsale plays a U.S. Marshal sent to investigate Antarctica's first homicide: a body on the ice. (Getting pretty awful reviews, like this one from "Variety": Should fade faster than a polar bear in a blizzard!)
3. "Sorority Row" - Rated R for strong bloody violence, language, sexuality, nudity and partying. When a sorority prank goes terribly wrong, ending in death for one of the girls, her friends vow to keep it a secret and never speak of it again. But then, a mysterious killer goes after those involved. (Hey! Want to waste ten bucks at the movies! Here ya go!)
4. "Tyler Perry's - I Can Do Bad All By Myself" - Rated PG-13 for mature themes, a sexual assault on a minor, violence, drug references and smoking. When Madea catches 3 kids looting her home, she delivers the young delinquents to the only relative they have: their aunt, a heavy-drinking nightclub singer who wants nothing to do with the kids. It turns into a story of family, faith... and even true love. (I want more Madea, more Madea, more Madea!!!)

5. "Broken Hill" - Rated PG for thematic elements and some language. A young man in the Australian Outback works on his dad's ranch. But his true love is music. Can a bunch of outcasts in the local prison, help him realize his musical dream? (This is one of my favorite movies of the year so far. Sweet story, very well acted. It's been compared to Billy Elliot, Fame and August Rush. It gets my highest recommendation! One of those small movies you should really see, when you get tired of all the big special-effects blockbusters. Trust me. You'll thank me after you see it.)
