Farewell to Trooper Taylor

Many of you grew up with him, listening to him on the radio, or watching him on tv, doing his CHP traffic updates.

Trooper Jim Taylor died this week after a tough battle with cancer.

According to the KMJ website, funeral services for Taylor will be held Monday, November 23rd.

9:30am - Graveside service at Clovis Cemetery

11:00am - Memorial service at Peoples Church

Jim was always a nice guy... friendly and sincere.  Feel free to leave any memories you might have about him, in the comments section below.

That's Trooper Taylor above, on the left, with some of the DJ's from the old KNAX Radio.

Trooper was a wonderful person. I am gonna miss him. Specially when he would come through the back door at my dad's (Archie) house and yell "Arch ya here?" or him signing off on the radio, "I'm alla here" when he worked at KNAX Radio. I'm really gonna miss my hugs from him....... RIP TROOPER!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!

No one will ever know what Tropper met to me. Many years ago I started working with  at KNAX doing traffic in the morning then when he went to KsKs and KMJ I went with him and he trained me very well and due to him and Kevin Musso I now work with 47 doing traffic, This man was one of a kind and you could always mention Trooper Taylor and everyone knew him.
Now he is in heaven taking care of traffic thedre and looking down at us wondering how anyone gets to where they are going because of the way they drive. I guess one of my favoriate sayings of his was when their was a pig in the road he woulld always say I mean the 4 legged type not the 2, on Trooper coulld get away with that. I have many stories that I could tell throughout the years that Iworked with him but for now I will just say that God has another angel to help him out.
RIP Trooper, our family will iss you but we will met again.

I loved working with Trooper Taylor, many moons ago during the morning show.  He was always on top of traffic conditions and always had such a natural delivery.  And I can't tell you how many times he talked me out of stealing that "Arboleda" sign in Merced County!  :)  We'll miss you, Trooper T!  Thanks for the post, Mike.

I am sad to hear of Trooper Taylor's passing. I have fond memories of his morning reports on KNAX with Brad Chambers and Storm Kelley. He had a great wit and a wonderful way on the radio that always made you want to meet the man 'cuz you knew he'd be a great guy to know. He was a class act.
Our prayers go out to the family and extended family of friends.
