1. New Moon: Rated PG-13 for violence and action. Part two of the "Twilight Saga." Vampires, werewolves, young love, pain, passion. It's all here. (Click here to read my review of "New Moon." Or click here to see pictures from Wednesday night's sneak preview at Regal Manchester.)
2. The Blind Side: Rated PG-13 for brief violence, drug and sexual references. True story of a homeless teenager, rescued by a caring family, who ends up in the National Football League! (This is a sweet, tug-at-your-heartstrings movie. Sandra Bullock is amazing as the Mom who takes in a troubled young man, and helps turn his life around. I think her performance is strong enough for a Best Actress "Oscar" nomination!)

3. Planet 51 - Rated PG for mild sci-fi action and suggestive humor. When an American Astronaut lands on Planet 51, he's the alien! (Full disclosure up front: I'm not a big fan of most kids movies. Sure, this one is cute... but honestly, I was bored after about 10 minutes.)
4. Precious - Rated R for child abuse, sexual assault, and pervasive language. One of the most talked-about movies of the year. Abused by her mother, raped by her father, Precious grows up poor, angry, illiterate, overweight and unloved. (This one is for those of you looking for an alternative to "New Moon" this weekend. It's a movie you'll remember for a long time. And don't be surprised if it sweeps the Academy Awards next year. It's that good.)
Does this "New Moon" fan have fangs???
